Loving a Book

Here’s some strange relationships.  A French woman is married to the Eiffel Tower.  A Japanese man is married to a Nintendo Video game.  A section of the Berlin Wall has been married to a German woman for over 30 years. An American recently married a fairground ride.

What does it mean to be in a relationship?  It means spending time together, and having two way conversions.  It means learning from each other, and helping one another cope with life issues.  I wonder, can someone have a relationship with a book?  As a child I loved Run Dog Run by Doctor Suess.  For a long time I’ve been infatuated with Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird.

However, since becoming a Christian I’ve been in a steady relationship with the Bible.  We’ve spent time together, and have had two way conversations that’s helped me with life.  While the Bible hasn’t learned anything from me, I’ve certainly learned from it. I’m not married to it, but I do love it.

Take Away: “For the Word of God is living and active…”
